Biography

Dr. Amy Vail is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and has been in private practice in the North Tahoe area since 2006. Dr. Vail’s approach to therapy is based on a wellness model that supports the underlying healthy self, while working to unravel faulty beliefs and behaviors that prevent adults, adolescents and children from living their best lives.

Dr. Vail has a collaborative approach to therapy and works closely with other doctors and health care professionals, along with parents, and teachers, to support the emotional growth and total wellbeing of her patients.

Community-Minded

Dr. Amy Vail is the Director of the Creativity & Madness conferences and the non-profit organization, The American Institute of Medical Education. AIMED is accredited by the ACCME and provides continuing education to the general medical community. Dr Amy Vail collaborates with and has presented locally with Tahoe Forest Hospital, Squaw Valley Ski Area, Alpine Meadows Ski Area, Palisades Tahoe’s Ski Teams, Sugar Bowl Academy’s Ski Teams, Squaw Valley Academy, Lake Tahoe Preparatory Academy, Tahoe Truckee Unified School District, The North Tahoe Public Utility District, Tahoe Women’s Services, Tahoe SAFE Alliance, and Child Protective Services.

Personal Interests

In her free time, Amy enjoys learning, traveling, camping, hiking, reading, skiing and snowboarding, dirt biking, mountain biking, water sports, art and animals.
